Here I have a dead gnarly which for eons, has been guarding the portal to another world and protecting us mortals from whatever demons exist on the "Other Side"

Survivor
With miles and miles of constantly shifting briliant white sand all around and under an almost daily blazing sun, stands a lonely yucca plant struggling for survival and suceeding. Just shows what Mother Nature can do if left to her devices. Taken at White Sands National Monument, NM. |

Utah Tranquility
Doesn't get much more peaceful than this. By the banks of the Colorado River as it meanders through the numerous canyons, its goes by the Fisher Towers and La Sal mountains. So peaceful and so beautiful. I wish all a peaceful New Year and ask that people take the time to admire Mother Nature and what she has built for us to enjoy with awe and gratefulness. |

Desert Floor 2
Beautiful skies combined with strong light bouncing of the rock formations makes this area one of my favorites no matter what season of the year.
Taken at Monument Valley on the border between Utah and Arizona. |

Spider Rock
As I sat on a ledge waiting for the sunset, I watched in awe the shadows form on this beautiful locale and could not help but wonder, who is the artist for Mother Nature.
Taken at Canyon de Chelley. |

The Badlands
What awesome beauty. What wild and untouched lands. Dawn can show even some of the most inhospitable land on earth in its beauty luring those who do not heed warnings to their demise. |

Lair Of The Spider
An old Navajo legend exists that a spider descended from this area to teach the Navajos the art of weaving. In this scene, this centuries old pinyon pine acts as a sentinel protecting this sacred site from anyone or anything that dares to desecrate it.
Taken at Canyon de Chelly, near Chinle, AZ. |

Road To Nowhere
This road for me symbolizes the road of life. Leading off towards the horizon and disappearing to turn who knows where?
While appearing to lead to the mountains, in addition to the turns (and thus tribulations of life), there is a formidable challenge in that a storm is brewing (The challenges of life?) Nevertheless, beyond the mountains and storm lies utter beauty (heaven?) |

Storms In The Desert
While it was cold and wet, the constant changing colors shown to me by Mother Nature rendered me oblivious to the elements. It was, for me, well worth the waiting in the storm in order to get that one special shot.
W
hen looking at this photo, I get the feeling it is a glimpse of how things used to be. No people to pollute or ruin the solitude; just wild and beautiful vistas. |

The Rim
Using your imagination, you can almost visualize a TRex coming out from behind the butte to attack. |
|

|
The Calm Before The Storm
Storms were menacing near sunset in the Grand Canyon. One portion of the canyon was bathed in rays of sunshine while another portion had developing thunderstorms. |

End Of A Day
Another beautiful sunset at the Grand Canyon. This time the setting sun was reflecting its rays of low clouds creating this eerie red glow. |
